Discover some of the famous, and lesser-known attractions of Somerset; from beaches to buildings and coastline to castles on a whistle stop overview of the county as Andrew shares some of his '50 Gems of Somerset'!
During the second session, uncover the rich array of grand buildings that inspire and enthral us to this day, before delving into the thousand year history of Somerset’s castles in the afternoon.
Our home for the day will be the stunning surroundings of Haselbury Mill near Crewkerne where the friendly team a will ensure you are well looked after throughout your visit with a beautiful 2-course lunch and refreshments, not to mention a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Andrew Powell-Thomas is a Somerset based author and historian who writes military history, local heritage and children’s fiction books. He is the editor of ‘Over the Top’, the children’s magazine associated with the Great War Group; has appeared on various local radio programmes; and has done Television work for the Yesterday Channel.

Haselbury Mill is nestled in the Somerset countryside with a meandering river, tranquil lake and 14-acres of glorious gardens. With three historically listed buildings and their Magnificent Tithe barn, it is truly a location steeped in history with a timeless charm.
