Join us in the stunning surroundings of Haselbury Mill for a delicious 2-course lunch prepared using the very best local, seasonal ingredients. After lunch, we’ll be joined by art historian Richard Kay for a lecture about some of the art world’s greatest mysteries.
How much can you learn from a picture? How often are artists’ intentions misunderstood? We look at 12 pictures, each with a puzzling content, a perplexing history or a surprising outcome. Ranging from Leonardo da Vinci to Banksy, this talk shows that pictures can sometimes offer us much more than meets the eye - and sometimes much less.
This lecture is suitable for all.
