Greg Morter

Greg Morter has a long-standing fascination with origins — whether in human history, biological evolution, or cosmology.

In 2009, this interest led him to begin leading Cosmic Walks: an introduction to the history of everything combined with a 13.8 km walk in which every metre represents a million years of time, making the vast scale of cosmic history tangible and memorable.

Shortly afterwards, he became a tutor with the Workers’ Educational Association, where he developed and taught a wide range of courses and talks. His subjects include the evolution of plants, the story of food growing, cosmology, and the history of money. Central to his work is a love of bringing insights from different disciplines together to create a coherent and often exhilarating overview of how everything connects.

Greg lives in Somerset, where he makes his living as both a teacher and a gardener.
